PawCentive Rewards - Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction & Acceptance

Welcome to PawCentive, the Loyalty Rewards Program operated by Pet Variety (“we”, “our”, “us”). PawCentive is designed to reward our valued customers with store credit and exclusive benefits when shopping at petvariety.com.au.

By enrolling in, accessing, or using the PawCentive program (“Program”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, as well as our general [Website Terms of Use] and [Privacy Policy]. If you do not agree, you should not participate in the Program.

Membership in PawCentive is free, offered at our sole discretion, and subject to these Terms and Conditions, which may be updated from time to time.


2. Eligibility & Membership

  • Have a valid email address and an active customer account with Pet Variety.
  • Reside in Australia (unless we expressly expand eligibility to other regions).
2.2 Membership
  • Enrolling in PawCentive is free and automatic once you create an account and make a purchase with Pet Variety.
  • Each customer may only hold one PawCentive account. Multiple accounts, or accounts created under false identities, may be suspended or terminated.
  • Businesses, resellers, or wholesale accounts are not eligible unless specifically approved by us.
2.3 Account Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining accurate personal details in your account, including your email address. We are not liable for any loss of benefits due to outdated or incorrect information.


3. Earning Rewards

3.1 How Rewards Are Earned
  • PawCentive rewards are earned as a percentage of eligible purchases made at Pet Variety.
  • The amount of cashback/store credit earned may vary by product and is displayed on the product page and cart page.
  • Rewards are issued as store credit only and hold no cash value outside of Pet Variety.
3.2 Tiered Rewards

Your PawCentive tier determines the percentage of rewards you earn:

  • Bronze Paw: Entry-level tier with base rewards.
  • Silver Paw: Higher cashback percentage.
  • Gold Paw: Premium cashback percentage.
  • Platinum Paw: Top-tier with the highest reward rate and exclusive offers.

3.3 Eligible Purchases
  • Rewards are earned on the purchase price, excluding shipping fees, and discounts (including store credit redemptions).
  • Certain products, promotions, or brands may be excluded at our discretion. Exclusions will be noted on product pages where possible.
3.4 Posting of Rewards
  • Rewards are generally credited to your account once payment has been confirmed.
  • We reserve the right to delay or adjust reward crediting if a purchase is subject to return, cancellation, or fraud investigation.

4. Redeeming Rewards

4.1 How to Redeem
  • PawCentive rewards are issued as store credit and can be redeemed directly at checkout on eligible purchases at Pet Variety.com.au.
  • To use your rewards, you must be logged in to your Pet Variety account at the time of checkout.
4.2 Minimum Spend Requirement
  • Rewards can only be redeemed when your order subtotal is $30 or more, excluding shipping costs.
4.3 Expiry of Rewards
  • All store credit earned through PawCentive will expire 30 days from the date of issue.
  • Expired store credit cannot be reinstated, extended, or refunded.
4.4 Exclusions & Restrictions
  • Rewards cannot be redeemed for cash, gift cards, or transferred between accounts.
  • Store credit may not be combined with other offers, promotions, or discounts unless specifically stated.
  • Some products, brands, or categories may be excluded from redemption at our discretion. Exclusions will be displayed where applicable.
4.5 Partial Redemptions
  • If the value of your PawCentive store credit does not cover the full purchase, the balance of your order must be paid using another accepted payment method.
  • If the value of your store credit exceeds the order subtotal, the remaining balance (if still within the 30-day validity period) will remain available for future purchases.

5. Membership Tiers

5.1 Overview of Tiers

PawCentive offers four membership tiers, designed to reward our most loyal pet parents:

  • Bronze Paw – Entry-level membership for all new participants.
  • Silver Paw – Enhanced benefits for members who reach higher spending thresholds.
  • Gold Paw – Premium rewards and increased cashback for our regular shoppers.
  • Platinum Paw – Exclusive access and the highest level of rewards for our most loyal customers.
5.2 Earning Tier Status
  • Tier status is determined by your total spend within a rolling 12-month period (excluding shipping costs and refunds).
  • When you qualify for a higher tier, your new status will apply immediately and remain valid for 12 months from the date of upgrade, provided you maintain the required spend threshold.
5.3 Maintaining Tier Status
  • To retain your tier level, you must meet the minimum spend requirement during the following 12-month period.
  • If the spend threshold is not met, your membership will automatically be adjusted to the tier that matches your eligible spend level.
5.4 Tier Benefits
  • Each tier provides different levels of cashback rewards, special offers, and early access promotions.

5.5 Changes to Tiers
  • Pet Variety reserves the right to amend tier names, benefits, or qualifying thresholds at any time.
  • Any changes will be communicated via our website and, where appropriate, directly to members via email.

6. Limitations & Exclusions

6.1 Non-Transferability
  • PawCentive rewards, cashback store credits, and tier statuses are personal to the account holder and cannot be transferred, gifted, or sold to another individual.
6.2 Eligible Purchases
  • Rewards are earned only on eligible purchases made directly through the Pet Variety online store.
  • Purchases made through third-party platforms, marketplaces, or unauthorised sellers are not eligible for PawCentive rewards.
6.3 Exclusions
  • Rewards may not be earned on certain items, such as gift cards, heavily discounted clearance products, or items excluded under specific promotional terms.
  • Shipping fees and handling charges are excluded from reward calculations.
6.4 Refunds & Returns
  • If you return or cancel an order, any rewards earned on that purchase will be deducted from your PawCentive balance.
  • If rewards were redeemed on a refunded order, the value of those rewards will not be reinstated.
6.5 Fraudulent or Misuse Activity

Pet Variety reserves the right to suspend or cancel your PawCentive membership if fraudulent, abusive, or suspicious activity is detected, including:

  • Multiple accounts under the same customer.
  • Attempts to manipulate or exploit the rewards system.
  • Breach of these Terms and Conditions.
6.6 Program Availability
  • PawCentive is offered at the sole discretion of Pet Variety and may be suspended, modified, or terminated at any time without prior notice.
  • If the program is terminated, any unredeemed rewards will expire and be forfeited.

7. Expiry & Forfeiture of Rewards

7.1 Standard Expiry
  • All PawCentive store credits expire 30 days from the date of issue, unless otherwise stated in promotional terms.
  • Expired rewards cannot be reinstated, extended, or exchanged for cash.
7.2 Account Inactivity
  • If a customer account remains inactive (no purchases, redemptions, or logins) for a continuous period of 12 months, all accumulated but unused rewards will be forfeited.
7.3 Membership Termination
  • If your PawCentive membership is cancelled (whether voluntarily or due to breach of these Terms), any unused rewards will immediately expire.
7.4 Program Closure
  • In the event Pet Variety discontinues the PawCentive program, any unredeemed rewards at the time of closure will be forfeited.
7.5 Non-Transferability of Rewards
  • Rewards are tied to your Pet Variety account and cannot be transferred, pooled, combined, or sold to another account or member.

8. Changes to the Program

8.1 Right to Modify or Terminate
  • Pet Variety reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the PawCentive program (including rewards, tiers, or earning rates) at any time, with or without prior notice.
8.2 Notice of Changes
  • Where possible, Pet Variety will provide reasonable notice of material changes via email or website updates. However, it remains the customer’s responsibility to review these Terms regularly.
8.3 Impact on Rewards
  • Any rewards earned prior to a change will remain valid until their stated expiry, unless the program is terminated.
  • In the event of program termination, unredeemed rewards will be forfeited, and no compensation will be provided.
8.4 No Guarantee of Continuity
  • Participation in PawCentive does not guarantee ongoing access to the same features, benefits, or rewards structure.

9. Liability & Disclaimers

9.1 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pet Variety and its affiliates, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any loss, damage, cost, or expense (whether direct, indirect, or consequential) arising from participation in the PawCentive program, including but not limited to:

  • Inability to earn or redeem rewards;
  • Changes to, or termination of, the program;
  • Technical errors, system outages, or data loss;
  • Misuse or unauthorised access to a member’s account.
9.2 Australian Consumer Law
  • Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any rights or guarantees to which customers are entitled under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable consumer protection laws.
9.3 Accuracy of Information
  • Pet Variety makes reasonable efforts to ensure that information regarding PawCentive is accurate and up to date. However, we do not guarantee that all details (including earning rates, rewards, or product eligibility) are error-free, and we reserve the right to correct any errors without prior notice.
9.4 Member Responsibility
  • Members are responsible for maintaining the security of their PawCentive account and ensuring their personal details are accurate and up to date. Pet Variety accepts no responsibility for rewards lost due to incorrect account details, misuse, or unauthorised use.

10. Related Policies

These PawCentive Terms and Conditions operate in conjunction with our existing website policies. By participating in the PawCentive Rewards Program, you also agree to the following:
